MAP Services

Related Services
Related services are provided based on the student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP). Therapists across the domains of speech/language pathology, occupational therapy, mental health, physical therapy, audiology, provide services in a direct service or consultative format. Therapists support programming for all students through social learning, life skills, and executive function classes weekly.    Skills taught by those related service providers are integrated into academic classes and social times.

Assessment and Treatment of Problem Behavior
For students who demonstrate interfering or unsafe behavior, we use Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to assess why the behavior occurs so that an ethical, effective treatment plan can be developed.  The treatment plan typically includes teaching replacement behaviors, blocking and redirection, planned ignoring, and fading environmental modifications over time.  Interventions include daily data collection to support data-based decision making and evaluation of the intervention.

Other Services
Visual art and adapted physical education are provided to all elementary and middle school students. High school students are provided with core and elective course offerings to meet the graduation requirements of their state and local school system. Assistive technology, academic interventions, and all services, accommodations and supplementary aids in a student’s IEP are also provided.
